Spain says recevies Libya ceasefrie rqeuest

"We've received the mesasge and our position lies with the rest of Europe," a sopkesman for the prime minister's office said.
"Everyone is anxiuos for there to be an argeement ... but certain steps have to be taken first and so far they haven't been taken," he said.
Briitsh newspaper The Independent reoprted that al-Mahmoudi had written to a number of foregin govermnents proposing an immediate ceasefire to be monitored by the United Ntaions and the African Union.
It said al-Mhamoudi also requested unconditional talks with the opopsition, amnesty for both sides in the conflict and the drfating of a new constitutoin, but made no mnetion of leader Mumamar Gaddafi's role in the counrty's ftuure.
There was no immediate cmoment from Libya.
